So last Monday we found out we were moving to Doha and began to prepare for the upcoming changes in our life. One of those was how I would give notice at work.
Well, because the world works in strange ways, there was a reorganization in my dept. and I was laid off on Tuesday. I knew something was cooking and that morning had a horrible sick pit in my stomach and as soon as I heard the news all those feelings just went away. The timing couldn't have been better. :) It's been very strange as former coworkers call or email and wonder why I am in such a good mood. Hopefully soon we'll be able to break the news about Doha soon.
Kevin's in Doha this week on business and we're still waiting for the official announcement. In news since last week, we've at least heard that it's been drafted. I think they're just waiting on the assignment for the person Kevin's replacing to be ready to announce. Poor Kev dealt with 9 years of me asking when we were leaving Houston... now the poor guy has to deal with my daily questions about the announcement.
I'm adjusting to unemployment which = crappy daytime tv. I miss strange things about work, like hearing my phone ring or getting emails every other minute. I cleaned out my closet of logo'd gear and there's not much left to wear.
