The last 10 days

Our time in Atlanta is winding down.  Kev headed home to Doha three days ago and I'm happy to report that we (me and the kiddo) have survived the first two nights alone.  Kev was an awesome help while he was here and I feel so blessed to have such an incredible husband.  I will definitely miss "tagging him in" for the late night consoling, though the nights are getting better.  The crazy thing is that every day is different and is truly better and better.

We are getting more adventurous in getting out of the house and have branched out from just going to the pediatrician to baby's first 3 mile walk at the 'Hooch, baby's first sushi, baby's first Chuy's, baby's first Costco... you get the drift.  We've also loved having more family visit and Adam enjoyed his extra time with Grammy Tammy, Great Aunt Teresa and Aunts Kim and Jessie.

I'm looking forward to getting the nursery set up when I get home.  Right now there is an empty room with a little bit of decor repurposed from our superhero baby shower and a dresser.  We sent 585 lbs. of baby stuff to Doha a few weeks ago and hopefully if all is on schedule it is sitting somewhere at the airport waiting to go through customs.  Then Kev gets to have all the fun in assembling a crib, two IKEA dressers, a glider/ottoman, pack-n-play, etc. before we get home.  I'm also eager to see how the superhero theme comes together... and to see if the wall art I made makes it in one piece to Doha!

My mom sent eight, count 'em- eight!, baby quilts for Adam in the shipment and I'm eager to put them all to good use!  The most involved quilt, which is a visual animal ABC quilt (which she's nicknamed "never again!") is getting the finishing touches now and will be flying home with me.  Can't wait to get photos of Adam with all of the them.  My mom has worked herself weary with all of these and I will be happy to rid her house of them so that she gets some relief!

Nothing too crazy ahead in our last 10 days here in the US.  I will enjoy being able to go to Target on a whim, bacon, sushi, green outdoors and mild temps.  I will not miss $90 tanks of gas!
